Have you dug out of the piles of snow yet? Man, we really got hit out here in the boonies. I mean, didn't I just say I was hoping for snow? Sorry about that. Here's hoping you'll be able to get out and about for some good food and drink this weekend. On to the Food tour for this week...

I always look forward to FoodDude's end of the year columns, like this one on his pick for Top New Restaurant. He picked Louie's Wine Dive and I can certainly see why by the great menu items he lists. Sounds like that place is very deserving of the honor.

Des Loines was back on the road in Burlington for his latest post. And I must say, the tenderloin at The Tender Trap looks pretty awesome. I'll take two, please.

Looking for a creamy soup for these cold winter nights? Nick at Des Moines Foodster has just the thing. Check out his recipe for Sweet Potato Soup - it should warm you right up!

I looove grilled cheese, well, actually Grilled Ham and Cheese is my favorite, and if you do too, you will so appreciate these two posts from Slaking Fool. His Grilled Cheese Tour of downtown Des Moines lets you in on all of the best spots to get this most wonderful of comfort food. Here's Part 1 - and here's Part 2!

We're fast approaching the best times of the year for drinking at breakfast! If you like a little something to shake things up before noon, Drinking in America has just what you need for your Breakfast of Champions.

Happy Friday!
