Amy in Friday Food Tour, breaded tenderloin, drinking accessoriies, tailgating recipes

The big Iowa-Iowa State game is coming up tomorrow - I'm not much of a college football fan, but even I half way pay attention to this game. You can be sure there will be some awesome tailgate parties with excellent food - what are you bringing?

And speaking of tailgate food, if you're still looking for something to make, Iowa Girl Eats has some Better-For-You Game Day Dips that look delicious. Because if you bring something halfway healthy, you can indulge on those sliders that someone else brings, right?

Des Loines was eating breaded tenderloins in Troy Mills, Iowa, for his latest review. I didn't even know there WAS a Troy Mills, Iowa, but I'm pretty sure I would like it there if only to stop in at the Dam Bar & Grill for one of those deep fried delights. Check out his new post here.

Enjoyed this post from FoodIowa on new dining bargains in the metro. It seems he always finds the cool new spots we all should be trying.

If you're like us, and take photos of your food all the time, you may as well enter a few of your photos into the Dine Iowa Dine Out contest to win an iPad. You can earn points until September 30. More information here - and on their Facebook page - good luck!

And I guess you can put this contraption in the Things You Didn't Know You Needed category - but it's still pretty cool. It's the Bar10der - sort of a boozy Swiss Army Knife that could come in handy if you ever find yourself in a remote location and need to muddle some mint leaves for a mojito - or something like that.

And on that note, I think I need a mojito. Enjoy the weekend and I hope your team wins!
