Friday Food Tour 5.17.13

Hey all you Iowa Foodie people! Just wanted to apologize for our sporadic posting as of late. Life at the Iowa Foodie compound has hit all sorts of haywire lately, and has resulted in our not being able to keep to our posting schedule. Things will hopefully sort themselves out soon, so stick with us and you'll soon see more foodie goodness up on the blog. So let's get on with the Friday Food Tour!

Have you had a chance to stop in at Hotshots, the new "craft hotdoggery?" Check out this article from the Des Moines Register for more info on the latest in gourmet hot dogs.

Eat Play Love Des Moines stopped in recently at the Home Plate Diner on the east side. Looks like it scores a home run for breakfast and comfort food (but that ad on the radio during the Cubs game could use some work). Read their review here.

We've been wanting to check out the newest central Iowa brewery, 515 Brewing Company - good thing Slaking Fool is on the job and reporting his tasting notes on their brews. Nice review of what to expect.
