Friday Food Tour 8.22.14

So, have you had any awesome DSM Restaurant Week meals? We've had a lunch and one dinner so far. May try to squeeze in another place over the weekend. You all know how much I love the Iowa State Fair, so it was interesting to see a review of the fair from Iowa Girl on the Go. She had some good fair treats and has a fresh perspective on an old favorite.

Have you tried Fresh Mediterranean Express (FMX) yet? Loved this peek at their menu from Food Dude over at DM Cityview. I know Grant will be chomping at the bit to try this place.

There's now another breaded tenderloin place on the list thanks to this post from Des Loines - looks like The Country House in Colo serves up a beauty of a tenderloin. And it's not that far to drive for us! Yum.

Grant has had a crap load (a very real type of measurement) of tomatoes out of his garden this summer. He's been canning up a bunch, but if you have lots of those home-grown goodies, you may want to check out these recipes from Chez Bonne Femme. Lots of tasty ways to enjoy your bounty.
