Friday Food Tour 6.28.13

Are you headed to the Des Moines Arts Festival this weekend? A little chance for rain on Saturday, but otherwise it looks to be the perfect weekend for wandering around and checking out the artists. Of course, you'll have to pick up some food and drink there, too! So let's see what we've got for the food tour...
Looks like Slaking Fool was at the Wig and Pen in Ankeny recently. I always say I'm going to try their pasta and end up getting pizza because it's so good. But check out his photos - we need to get the pasta!
I enjoyed this post on FoodIowa - a little walk through the downtown skywalk from Jim. I don't get downtown much during the day, so it's good to know what to look for!
Have you been in Dakota City lately? Looks like Des Loines was at Vinny's BBQ there and gives us his review on a yummy looking tenderloin. Check it out here.
I was bummed that we were unable to make it to the recent Ham Independence Day at Grade A Gardens in Johnston. Thank goodness Eat Play Love Des Moines was there so we can see all the fun we missed.
I'm a big sangria fan - it's just another refreshing way to enjoy wine, right? So I was happy to see this post up on Drinking in America - the Top 4 Ready-to-Drink Sangrias for Summer. Hope I can find at least one of them to try around central Iowa. Let me know if you find any of them!
Enjoy the weekend.
