Vote for The Adam Emmenecker Challenge!

Just in case you might have missed the media buzz, we wanted to remind you that one of DSM's best sports bars/BBQ joints is in the running to have one of their sandwiches named "The Greatest Sports Sandwich" in America! ESPN's Fanwiches contest is in full swing, and The Adam Emmenecker Challenge from Jethro's BBQ is holding on to the top spot in voting results so far. We wanted to show our support for a great local hangout by getting the word out on this one-of-kind sandwich in the competition.
Named after former Drake basketball standout, Adam Emmenecker, it is indeed a colossal sandwich - a full five pounds of awesomeness. It starts with Jethro's huge pork tenderloin, adds on an Angus steak burger, big slabs of Texas brisket, applewood smoked bacon and fried cheese, topped off by buffalo chicken tenders. Then they mound melted cheddar cheese and white cheddar cheese sauce on top of the whole thing. Doesn't this ginormous wonder of the sandwich world sound deserving of "The Greatest Sports Sandwich" in America?
KCCI Sports in Des Moines covered the contest recently and has been keeping fans up to date on the voting. They feature video that shows how Jethro's puts together the massive Adam Emmenecker sandwich.
Here's KCCI Sports Director, Andy Garman, holding The Emmenecker.
Voting runs until June 6th, so be sure to check out ESPN's Fanwiches voting page on Facebook and show some love for a local favorite of ours, Jethro's BBQ. They'll need a lot more votes to get this contest in the bag, so make sure to add yours! If The Adam Emmenecker wins the ESPN Fanwiches contest they will be whisked off to ESPN headquarters in Bristol, CT, and see their sandwich immortalized (temporarily, anyway) in the ESPN cafeteria. That would be cool.
Once again, here's the link to ESPN's Fanwiches special Facebook page so you can vote. Spread the word and let's see The Adam Emmenecker Challenge come out on top as "The Greatest Sports Sandwich" in America!

I have enjoyed the Adam Emmenecker with my buddies. It was great to share. Unless you are fast eater- seems like this challenge would be tough to win.
I agree! Only 15 minutes to eat that monster would be tough. We've seen some people sharing it too, but not to win the challenge. It's too mixed up for me, but I like all the stuff on it, just separately!
