Friday Food Tour 1.27.12

I can't believe we're almost at the end of January. This new year is flying by already and I haven't had nearly enough drinks. Good thing the weekend is here!

And speaking of drinking, this week Des Moines is Not Boring had this write up on Limey's in West Des Moines. Sounds like a fun place to add to the Bar Book!

We visited Cafe di Scala during Restaurant Week last August and it was seriously awesome. This review from Cityview's Food Dude let us all in on why it is one of Des Moines' best restaurants.

I love that Slaking Fool is always hitting up the more interesting, out of the way places in the metro. Here's his take on Tamales Industry with some great photos.

In this Iowa Girl Eats post she talks about a boy that loves him some boxed dinners. Well, in our case, it's the girl that loves them! Either way, she gives us a healthier, homemade version of my favorite 'flavor,' Cheeseburger Macaroni!

And finally... sometimes you come across something so ingenious you wonder how you ever got along without it. That's the case for me with these "Beer Mitts." Pure genius.
