Friday Food Tour  11.23.12

I sure hope everyone had a fun and food-filled Thanksgiving. I know we are thankful for the wonderful meal my sister provided, and also are thankful we get to have yet another great meal with family on Saturday! Let's get on to the food tour in case some folks are planning on heading out for a day of shopping...

Has anyone been to one of the Second Saturday Suppers at Proof? Cityview's Food Dude has a great write-up on all of the delicious courses he enjoyed and after reading about it, it sure seems like a must-do on our list.

I came across a new local food blog the other day - Des Moines Good Eats. Manon shares recipes, restaurant reviews, and more, and I enjoyed reading through her posts. Today's cold and blustery weather is perfect for a warm, satisfying soup, so check out her recipe for Sausage and Kale soup.

There's nothing better than a good pizza and a beer, right? Well, at least I think so. Slaking Fool's latest post lets us in on his vote for best bar pizza in DSM - the Plaza Pub. We've had pizza there and it IS really good!

How about another great soup recipe? This one from Iowa Girl Eats is creamy and cheesy, that most magical of combinations. Check out her Cheesy Chicken and Rice Soup - and get out your soup pots!

Well, the holiday season has officially started, so that means we'll be having a few drinks to get us over the hump, right? Check out this hilarious post from Drinking in America about a 'Bartender Confidentiality Agreement.' I might need one. :)

Enjoy your leftovers this weekend!
