Friday Food Tour 12.07.12

Finally, a tiny chance for snow in central Iowa! I know many of you don't care for the white stuff, but being from Minnesota, I kind of miss it. And it would certainly help with the blah landscape out here in the boonies. So...what can we find for the food tour today...
I love that Slaking Fool searches for great pizza joints. Awhile back he was at Plaza Pub and now, he's moved on to Jersey Guys Pizza in Beaverdale. And it looks awesome. Check out the post here. Putting this place on the list now...
And speaking of places to put on the list, there's another new breaded tenderloin to try in the metro. Des Moines is Not Boring had this write up on Nick's Tenderloin & Italian Beef for their Why Eat at a Chain Wednesday series. And the Italian Beef sounds pretty amazing, too.
Have you heard about Bubba, the pop up restaurant that will be at Hoyt Sherman Place in January? FoodIowa has all of the details on the menu in this post. Sounds absolutely Bubba-licious. Sorry, couldn't help myself.
I thought this post from Des Moines Foodster on 'In the Bag' catering was interesting. Back when I worked in a corporate cubicle we had their 'corporate cuisine' many times. Kind of fun to see how they take care of feeding so many people every day.
Hosting a holiday party this year? Serving the same old boring wine and beer? Why not shake it up a bit and serve festive holiday jello shots?! You've got to admit, these look pretty tasty. And they're small, better have two.
Here's hoping for snow!
