Friday Food Tour  2.17.12

It's been one loooong sick week for this half of the Iowa Foodie team. A tough battle with a virus meant we even had to postpone Grant's NY Strip/King Crab Legs Valentine's Day dinner! Dang. I didn't spend much quality time with the internets this week, so it took me a little extra time to find some links for this weeks' food tour - but here we go!

This week, Indian food is the feature for Cityview's Food Dude. You can seriously learn a ton from this guy in this article alone. His review of Namaste India is here.

Now I knew there was a Madrid, Iowa, and a Paris, Iowa, but I had no idea we could travel to Rome in our lovely state. Des Loines was at Deano's Place in Rome and it looks like a fabulous stop for a breaded tenderloin. Here's the review.

Looks like Cheese School is back in session at the The Cheese Shop of Des Moines. They are also hosting a Beer vs. Wine event in late February. Both sound delicious. More info here.

If you've ever spent any time at all in Ames, you've been to Hickory Park. The huge restaurant with the long wait times was a recent feature on Why eat at a chain Wednesday at Des Moines is Not Boring. But! The wait is worth it.

Are you a gin drinker? Since I haven't had a drink since last Saturday (I know! I'm parched), I'm totally up for any of these refreshing cocktails from Drinking in America.

Wash your hands kids, and stay healthy. Have a great weekend.
