Friday Food Tour 3.23.12

After a brief hiatus from the Food Tour, we're back with more fun food links for your Friday. We'll have a couple of more posts from our little road trip, especially since I had to shell out $70 for a new camera battery upon "forgetting" mine. Which may or may not have something to do with the other half of this Iowa Foodie team. Anyhoo, on to the tour.

Haven't seen much posted lately on Distilled Opinion, but everything looks back to normal with a nice review of Noah's Ark. Love that place.

Des Loines has been back out on the road, this time up north in Okoboji. Check out the latest breaded tenderloin we need to go eat with this post on Sneaky's Chicken.

Now I'm a true lover of bar food - burgers, wings, potato skins, all the greasy fried stuff - but Grant, not so much. He gets tired of the same old thing and is always looking for something different. So I was so happy to see this post from Food Iowa on the best restaurant bar food. We'll definitely check out these places.

I found a great new (well, new to me anyway) blog this past week - Eat Local Iowa. She had this great post on the new wood-fire pizzas at the Lincoln Wine Bar in Mount Vernon. This was one of the places we tried to visit on our recent road trip and well, let's just say it didn't work out very well. But after reading this post, I may have to give it another try.

With all of this fabulous weather we've been enjoying, I've been wanting to try a new cocktail for patio sipping. I think I just found it - a Blood Orange Margarita. Yum-o. I will be making a couple of these very soon.

Maybe we can eat outdoors this weekend!
