Friday Food Tour 2.22.13

Today I'm posting from the far north of Minnesota. I left Grant in Iowa and drove the 9 hours to Grand Portage on Tuesday and decided to dodge the (not much of a) storm and stay an extra day! Heading home tomorrow, so I have time to get the Friday Food Tour up and running...
I've really been enjoying 'The F Files,' recipes and fun from the kitchen of Chef George Formaro. Just before Valentine's Day he put up a recipe for Mac and Cheese: Full-Frontal Food Porn that looks soooo marvelously cheesy. I hope we make this at home (and by we, I mean Grant).
Looks like DSMGoodEats was out for another Foodie Night Out, this time at Centro. Check out her post on the great food she had, complete with photos!
I love how Slaking Fool makes the best of not-so-great situations. After a holiday trip went south, he turned it into a great post on the wonderful food to be had at the Ox Yoke on Interstate 80. Excellent photos, as usual.
It appears that the new Wasabi Tao is really popular with all food bloggers! This time it's Des Moines Foodster giving the thumbs up to lunch there. I guess I'll have to give in and go there with Grant even though sushi is not my thing at all. Would hate for him to miss out!
I usually end my Friday Food Tour posts with some drinking tidbit or other, but today I thought I'd give a shout out to one of the best photographers in MN, Travis Novitsky. Take a look at Travis' work here - and you'll see why I believe where I grew up is one of the most beautiful places in the world. He also keeps a photo journal here. Keep up the great work, Travis!
Have fun digging out of the snow. Thank goodness it missed us here. Enjoy the weekend!
