Friday Food Tour  7.19.13

Happy Friday! Anyone heading to the Cityview Brewfest tomorrow? Sounds like it will be a fun time with so many fine beers to sample. I'm sure there are plenty of other interesting things going on in the metro - we'll have to find something to do once this heatwave breaks! Lots of fun here on the food tour today...

I always like reading about innovative chefs and this article from the Des Moines Register about The Cheese Shop's Nikolas Illingworth was very interesting. Check it out!

Dine Des Moines enjoyed Sunday in the Park with Baru 66 and La Bonnne Femme recently. Looked like great event and she has the review and the photos to prove it!

Were you an adventurous eater at 8 years old? I can't say I was (or am now, for that matter!), but Mazian from Mazy's Food Adventures is - and he blogs about it, too! How cool is this kid? This is a must read.

Grant is a serious cookbook collector, but nothing like George from The Fomaro Files. Loved this post on one of his favorite cookbooks and why it's so special.

And finally, speaking of adventurous eaters - you probably would appreciate these restaurants more than I do. Check out The World's Weirdest Restaurants - and let us know where you're headed first!

Have a great weekend.

That post by Formaro is great stuff. That cook book is what I also used to look at to learn the basics as a child.

I didn't realize it until now. I am guessing this is the case for many folks.

Thanks for posting this! I'm touched that Dine Des Moines liked our cookout.
