Friday Food Tour 1.18.13

OK, I'm officially close to total winter blahs. Even though it will be an extremely mild 57 degrees today in central Iowa, I'm ready to be where I can wear shorts and sandals. And drink frozen concoctions. Like our kids who are in St. Thomas right now. *sigh* But let's do the Friday Food Tour instead!
My love of pizza is well documented and I can't wait to try Falbo Bros. on E 14th. This article from the Des Moines Register gives a hint at what to expect when you stop in.
Cityview's Food Dude takes us to two great Latino restaurants this week. Everything sounds so fresh and tasty! Maybe some spicy food from south of the border is just what I need to kick my winter blahs.
If you haven't been to Augusta Restaurant in Oxford, IA, yet - make plans. Even though it's a good drive from the metro, it's worth it. And before you go, read this article from the Iowa Press-Citizen and you'll see what I mean.
We've gone to B & B Grocery on the south side for a big slab of New York Strips, but we've never eaten there - crazy, I know. But after seeing this post from Slaking Fool, that is about to change - pronto. I may have to have the burger and tenderloin at the same time.
I'll sign off today with a lovely boat drink recipe from one of my favorites, Rum Shop Ryan. The 'Person Overboard' cocktail sounds like just the thing for today. And the photos of the beach bar in the Bahamas make me happy.
Have a fabulous weekend.
