Friday Food Tour 4.08.11

Local bloggers were eating all over DSM this past week! Here's some highlights...

Cory over at coryeats.com has really ramped up his reviews lately. His review of Woody's Smoke Shack has some great photos and insight on what you should try!

Distilled Opinion visited a local favorite, Tursi's Latin King. See his review of their specialty, Chicken Spiedini, and other menu items here.

Jill over at Top 100 Des Moines Restaurants stopped in at 801 Chophouse for her latest review. Check out her photos and recommendations.

If you're a fan of great authentic Mexican food (and we certainly are), Food Dude Jim Duncan recently posted an awesome article about some superb tacqueria food you can find in Des Moines.

And finally, Slashfood had a cool post on chef tattoos this week featuring an online gallery of the best chef body art called Kitchen Ink. The Iowa connection is Matt Steigerwald of the Lincoln Cafe in Mt. Vernon. He has "Food is Important" written his bicep. It's also the mission/logo behind his restaurant, and he's made a pledge to offer free frites for life to anyone who comes in with this exact tattoo. So far a dozen people have taken him up on the offer! What do you think? Would you do it?
