Friday Food Tour 12.14.12

Are you all finished with your holiday shopping? Hopefully you can just enjoy the weekend then, instead of fighting the crowds at the mall! Maybe a nice leisurely lunch with a big glass of wine should be in your plans, and here on the Friday Food Tour are several good ideas on where to go!
We haven't been to Raccoon River Brewing Company forever, but after reading this post over at Des Moines is Not Boring, I think it's time to head over there. Good beer and good food.
I'm not much of a breakfast eater, but Grant LOVES breakfast. Slaking Fool was at Mullets for breakfast and by the look of those photos, I may be convinced that breakfast is the way to go. Check out the post here.
Number 7 Brewing Company in Ankeny has been getting a nice amount of press lately, and it seems well deserved. Distilled Opinion was there for the release of their first in-house brew in November. Read his review here. We've stopped in for a beer there, but looks like we need to try the food, and soon!
Manon of Des Moines Good Eats was at Tally's recently, enjoying the food and some interesting martinis. By the sound of this post, she had a great time. That lobster bisque sounds delicious, right? And I would definitely try a couple of those martinis.
Don't forget to take advantage of the Downtown Des Moines Winter Market at Capital Square/Nollen Plaza - lots of great gift ideas and some good food, too. Hours are 11 - 2 Friday (today) and 9 - 1 on Saturday. There is also entertainment and some kids activities. More information here.
Have a happy weekend.
