Wine Flights at Sbrocco

We love wine - big, hearty reds or light, floral whites, the latest from California or New Zealand - we'll give it a taste. It's a rare day that we don't enjoy a glass or two with dinner or out on the patio. So we really enjoyed our visit to Sbrocco to have a couple of flights from their awesome selection of wine.
Sbrocco has such a great ambiance - those wonderful velveteen banquettes (which we were told are from the original Embassy Club), eclectic light fixtures, it's warm and inviting.
There are beautiful old wooden doors up behind the bar, and gorgeous stained glass doors – the half-moon shaped, pounded tin bar is a great place to enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine.
We ordered one white flight (Flight 1) and one red flight (Flight 5).
The white flight included a glass of Salmon Creek Pinot Grigio from California, one of Big House White, a blend, also from California, and a glass of Kroara, a white from the Cortese region of Italy.
Our red flight featured two Argentinean wines – a glass of Durigutti, a Malbec, and one of La Posta, a ‘cocina’ blend – and a glass of La Rocas, a Garnacha from Spain.
Wine flights are the perfect way to sample several different styles of wine and compare and discuss differences in nose and finish, all those fancy wine tasting terms. Or just a great way to enjoy a nice afternoon.
The wine list at Sbrocco is extensive. By the glass or by the bottle, you can choose from the greatest wine regions in the world. And the knowledgeable staff is ready and willing to answer any questions. So whether you try something new, or get a glass of an old favorite, you’ll have an enjoyable experience – which is really what wine is all about, right?
Stop in at Sbrocco on one of these nice spring days and check out their wine flights – excellent selection, friendly staff and an enjoyable atmosphere – you’ll love it.
