Iowa Girl Eats has really outdone herself with this recipe for Proscuitto Wrapped Caprese Chicken Fingers. Made with La Quercia proscuitto, what's not to love? I shall be requesting this for dinner, Grant.

I lived in the Twin Cities for 8 years and it is a great food city. So I love to read The Heavy Table daily and catch up on foodie happenings in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. While reading through some older posts the other day I found this article on The Wines of Iowa - great photos, too.

If you're a fan of food on a stick (and if you've ever been to the Iowa State Fair, who isn't?), this new cookbook is right up your alley. On a Stick! by Matt Armendariz features great recipes like Chicken and Waffles on a stick and even Spaghetti & Meatballs on a stick. I know! Too cool. Can't wait to pick up a copy.

And finally - it's mere hours away.... The Des Moines Farmers' Market opens tomorrow, Saturday, May 7, at 7am! Their website lists vendors, maps, directions and parking, plus a list of what's in season - all good info. So grab your reusable bag and set the alarm clock!
