Friday Food Tour 9.30.11

As we slide into October, are you getting excited for chili, soups and stews? I have a feeling Grant will be getting crock pot happy in the coming weeks. So, what is central Iowa eating this week?
Lots of buzz around the metro's new casual French restaurant, Tartine. Des Moines is Not Boring visited on their 3rd day open and it sounds like we need to try this place. Read the Why Eat at a Chain Wednesday review here.
If you love coffee (which Grant does and I sooo do not), it sounds like Zanzibar is a great place to relax and enjoy a cup. Distilled Opinion gives us an excellent look at this Ingersoll coffee house.
Old school Italian is certainly Des Moines' forte, and the Food Dude is a true afficiando. Check out his recent review of Leonetti's Bella Cucina in the Palm - sounds like dinner to me.
Glad to see Top 100 Des Moines Restaurants is still going strong. La Pizza House is the latest to be scratched off the list - read about it here.
Well, it is Friday and the weekend is close - if you're dragging a bit this afternoon, maybe you just need a Drunken Donut! And really, don't we all.
Eat well this weekend!

Thanks for the link to my Zanzibar entry and to FoodIowa's blog about Leonetti's Bella Cucina. His pictures look great. If the handmade ravioli dish tastes as good as it looks it ought to be a winner.
I usually check out every link on the Friday Food Tour and today was no exception. Keep up the good work!
