Friday Food Tour 8.24.12

Wow, it's the weekend already. This summer has just flown by. Also flying by is Des Moines Restaurant Week - you only have 3 days left to enjoy the special lunches and dinners being provided by some of the metro's most delicious restaurants. Be sure you stop in somewhere this weekend!

As you know, The Other Place, the iconic pizza place in Cedar Falls, opened another location recently in Clive. Our kids (UNI grads) rave about it, but it was nice to see Food Dude's take on The OP. I heartily agree with him that 'nostalgia is a powerful attraction.' Read his review in Cityview here.

I learn so much from reading other local blogs. For instance, I didn't even know about Saraj, a new West Des Moines restaurant, until I read about it on Why Eat at a Chain Wednesday over at Des Moines is Not Boring. I'm pretty sure Grant will want to try this place out very soon.

There were several great restaurant reviews this week, and here's another one for you. The Des Moines Register stopped in for Dinner and Cocktails at Mezzodi's on Fleur. Sounds like another one to put on the list.

And finally, I haven't played a drinking game in years - I'm much too serious about drinking for that (yeah, right) - but this Buzzfeed post may have found the best drinking game ever! It's so simple, yet would be so hilarious. You know you want to pick out your 'stache now!
