Friday Food Tour 3.08.13

Anybody taking a fun spring break trip this year? It's coming right up for most of us here in central Iowa. I have a list about 10 places long that I'd like to head to... if you are going, let us know what good food you get to eat there! And it's on to the food tour...

If you've been hestitating to take a local cooking class, check out this fun post from Des Moines is Not Boring on Cooking with the Masters in DSM. Looks like everybody has a pretty good time!

I don't know much about 'molecular' food, but Grant will eat anything - Cityview's Food Dude explains the newest bar food available at the Gaslamp in Des Moines. I must admit, it sounds pretty tasty.

Another new brewery is open in the metro! 515 Brewing Company is now open in Clive. Grand Opening festivities will be held on Saturday, March 23 from 3-7 p.m. and include free t-shirts to the first 50 people, door prizes on the hour, brewery tours and food for purchase by Tacopocalypse. Yay for more Iowa craft beer!

And over on the wine side of things, this article from The Messenger says that Iowa wineries are thriving. That's good to hear as we enjoy hanging out at Iowa wineries as often as possible!
