Friday Food Tour 03.14.14

Dang, I did it again! Missed my post date this past Tuesday - no real excuse, just ran out of time. But I was really enjoying my weekend and didn't want to give any of it up! However, I've already got NEXT Tuesday's post done, so we'll be back on track soon. Excited to be heading to Augusta Restaurant for dinner tonight! But first, this weeks' food tour...
The Cabin Fever Event Series at Living History Farms sounds pretty fun! Distilled Opinion was there for the Beer and Bread event and posted about all the fun. We're looking forward to the Grilled Cheese Fest coming up in April.
If you happen to find yourself in Polk City, you might want to check out Dottie's Landmark Bar & Grill. The Iowa Food Blog recently posted this review and we've been there ourselves many times. Good looking burger.
Looking for a new spot for lunch in downtown DSM? Well, Dine Des Moines has done the leg work for you with this post on her favorite places for a midday meal. All of it looks delicious!
You know we can always count on Iowa Girl Eats for great healthy recipes and this one for Creamy Sweet Corn and Potato Chowder looks awesome. We've still got a few chilly days in the forecast and this soup will hit the spot!
Did you get your fill of Girl Scout cookies during the big sale? We had some of our faves, Thin Mints and Tagalongs, and they were as delicious as ever. But - if you missed out, Drinking in America comes to the rescue with Girl Scout Cookie Cocktails You Need Now! I do need them, I really do.
For those of you heading out on Spring Break - be safe and have fun!
