Friday Food Tour 11.11.11

Be sure to thank a veteran if you see one or know one this Veteran's Day! A special shout out to our son-in-law, Jason, who served his country for a lot of years in the Iowa National Guard. Thanks, Jason!
I really enjoyed this review from Distilled Opinion on Cafe di Scala. A well written post with photos of their beautiful and delicious food - what's not to like? We need to make reservations pronto.
The Datebook Diner was recently back at Gusto Pizza Co. for lunch and remains impressed with the tasty thin crust pizza. And we must agree, we love that place. Read her review here.
Looks like Des Loines took a jaunt a bit west of the metro for his latest taste of breaded tenderloin. He stopped in at The Old 30 Grill in Jefferson and gives us this review.
Food Dude really knows his stuff and now you can know Everything You Need to Know About Beef by reading his latest post. This superbly written piece gives us some history, a couple of recipes for Steak de Burgo, and even some butcher terminology so you know what's what when you're buying beef. If you're not hungry when you start reading, you will be when you're done.
And finally, like it or not, the holiday season is upon us. If you're planning on hosting a holiday cocktail party this year, this post from Serious Eats on How to Plan for Holiday Cocktail Parties is a life saver. All that holiday stress is no match for a good martini. Works for me!
Get out and enjoy your 11.11.11!
