Friday Food Tour 4.01.11

I thought about doing an April Fool's Friday Food Tour today, but I'm so totally not feeling that creative or witty today, so that's a no go. But! There are plenty of fun links to check out this 1st day of April (and CUBS baseball opening day!).
There's a new Des Moines food blog that is sampling Des Moines fare and giving their reviews. Jaimie and Jeff have already done posts on Cafe Di Scala, Gusto Pizza and El Chisme - take a look at Des Moines Good Eats for the details.
You know we love us some good 'Que and over at Des Moines Food Blog they visited Woody's Smoke Shack recently. Woody's is just one of the several great BBQ joints in DSM, so read their review and make plans to visit Woody's.
Even though this post is not recent, Heavy Table featured an excellent write-up of the art of making prosciutto at La Quercia in Norwalk, IA. Great photos give you an insider's view of their process.
If you love Tabasco sauce, and seriously, who doesn't, you'll love this post from Matt Armendariz at mattbites.com. His visit to the McIlhenny Company at Avery Island, Louisiana, profiles the people and the process that bring you that great variety of Tabasco products. His photos are freaking awesome.
And finally, you may think this really is an April's Fool joke, but it's all real. SlashFood reports on 'Playing Dress-Up with Mrs. Butterworth.'
That's it for today kids! Go Cubs!!
