Friday Food Tour 9.12.14

So excited to announce the winner of our great prize pack for a fun Omaha weekend - Jenny Ackley-Daughenbaugh was our big winner! Thanks to everyone that left a comment to be entered in the drawing - and a BIG thank you to Visit Omaha and Omaha Restaurant Week! They provided the awesome restaurant gift cards and free tickets to attractions. We're looking forward to our trip to Omaha to enjoy Omaha Restaurant Week - look for our posts in the coming weeks. Grant is a huge fan of pho, the super flavorful Vietnamese soup, so he was excited to see a post on Des Moines is Not Boring on one his favorite spots - Pho All Seasons. He seriously eats the whole huge bowl and absolutely loves it.

If you're a fan of the Downtown Des Moines Farmers' Market, you'll want to check out this post from Slaking Fool on the wonderful tastes he found there this past summer. The photos will make you hungry. Seriously. And this is just Part 1.

I count on Eat Play Love Des Moines to hit the new places in the metro, and they didn't let me down - Taste of New York opened recently and their post was up THE NEXT DAY! That pizza is looks very tasty so you know I'll be heading there soon.

I just had to add one more Iowa State Fair post - I know! I'm almost through fair withdrawal. Check out this post from Des Moines Foodster on some great Iowa State Fair food. Now I'm craving a corn dog - again.

Love drinking vodka but hate the hangover? No problem! Drinking in America says you'll definitely want to check out this new vodka from an Iowa company that claims to Kill the Hangover. It's a bit science-y, but what the heck, I'm willing to give it a chance!
