Friday Food Tour 8.23.13

Have you had a chance to hit up any new restaurants during Des Moines' Restaurant Week for 2013? I found several reviews on the blogging scene so far - we'll feature a couple this week -  and it looks like the menus have been outstanding. Still have until Sunday, August 25, to enjoy it for yourselves. On to the tour!

Here's our first Restaurant Week review... looks like Distilled Opinion is back in the blogging game after a long hiatus! They've hit several places for Restaurant Week this year, but I really enjoyed this post on their meal at Gramercy Tap.

Eat Play Love Des Moines is everywhere in town it seems, they sure keep busy! Glad to see they took a nice night out for Restaurant Week at Centro. Love the photos.

Couldn't pass up this post from Slaking Fool on Opening Day Bites at the 2013 Iowa State Fair! He seemed to like the Jalapeno Corn Dog a lot more than Grant, and all of the photos make me wish we had one more weekend of the fair. Dang.

With Labor Day just around the corner, I hope everyone is planning a big end-of-summer picnic. The Lemon Drop Ice Cream recipe from The Iowa Housewife sounds like winner anytime of the year. Check it out here.

I'm still celebrating National Rum Day! I decided one day just wasn't enough time for my favorite spirit - so how about throwing a Tiki Party with even more fabulous rum drinks (from Drinking in America)! Let me know when it is and I'll be there!
