Friday Food Tour 3.30.12

The end of March is upon us! And as unbelievable as it is, we really need to mow the lawn at the Iowa Foodie compound. Dang. It's too early to have to mow! Oh well, at least we can use the grill all the time now. Not much of a trade-off, but we'll take it. Let's head on to the Food Tour.

We haven't been to the the Greenbriar for a while, but this review from Distilled Opinion reminds me that we always have a good meal there. And I love their bar.

We had an amazing meal at Cafe di Scala during Restaurant Week last year and this post from FoodIowa spotlights exactly why it's such a great place to dine. Mmmm....cavetelli.

I love reading about where other people like to eat, you know, just to see if we like the same places or to find out about a place we've never heard of or visited. Former DM Register Juice writer Brianne Sanchez recently wrote about her Des Moines restaurant go-tos.

Now I love french fries, reaaaallly love fries - so I was more than intrigued by this post from The Pesky Diner. The best fries in town are at the University Library Cafe? Why didn't I know this?! We were just there for a beer the other day and we didn't even eat! I plan to correct this very soon.

And finally, I've always known that my ideas get more and more awesome the more adult beverages I've consumed, but now I've got proof! A new study now shows that Getting Tipsy Enhances Creativity! I feel so vindicated.
