Friday Food Tour 2.24.12

Woo hoo, more snow! Growing up in Minnesota meant plenty of the white stuff and even though I'm a wimp about driving in snow, I really do like it. And doesn't the nice fluffy white snow look better than that drab, dull, brown ground cover we've been used to seeing everywhere? I THINK SO. Which, of course, makes it true. So what's up for this weeks' Friday Food Tour?

We didn't attend the Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival and I'm OK with that, but I'm sad that we missed the Bacon Resurrection Brunch at Gusto Pizza. Thank goodness Slaking Fool was there to give us this recap.

Des Moines is Not Boring was at China Jade in West Des Moines for this weeks' Why Eat at a Chain Wednesday. Sounds pretty tasty.

There's a new bar in town to try! Yaaaay. Beaver Tap opened up about a month ago in the former A.K. O'Connor's location in Beaverdale. Cityview gives us this look at the new place.

FoodIowa has been keeping pretty busy lately visiting some great restaurants. He was at Cooper's on 5th recently and has this review. Comfort food in Valley Junction? Sounds like we need to make a reservation.
