I've been enjoying the first twinges of fall, have you? Gets you in the mood for some good 'ol comfort food doesn't it - soups, stews, stuff in the crock pot - you know what I mean. I came across this receipe from Chez Bonne Femme for Short Ribs and it looks like just the thing for a marvelous fall dish.
And speaking of Wini, from Chez Bonne Femme, Monica from Rockin' the Kitchen put up a fun post about a class she enjoyed recently with Wini. It's a funny story about getting there late, but she has some awesome photos and a nice review of the class.
I couldn't resist throwing in ONE MORE Iowa State Fair post - this one from Slaking Fool! He always has such delicious photos - and he ate a lot of stuff of which I am jealous beyond measure. Only 11 more months and I get to go to the fair again...*sigh*
Not sure how much attention you pay to foodie lists of any kind, but I found this article from the Datebook Diner kind of interesting. It's a list of the Top Rated Reviews he's done in the two years he's been reviewing restaurants for the Des Moines Register. Some stellar places listed, too.
